The AES guidance program consists of individual, group and classroom meetings
to increase student's social and emotional awareness. Each month a new
topic will be reinforced to align with the Ashby Elementary School Improvement
Plan. Common topics addressed through Second Step and Responsive classroom
include impulse control, empathy, anger management, bullying, citizenship,
friendship, and problem solving. In addition to those topics, the fifth
grade students will also discuss Sexual Harassment and Transitioning to
the Middle School. More information about fifth grade classes will follow
when the class dates are finalized.
