'Think Before You Act' is one of the suggestions emphasized by Patrolman Fred S. Alden, IV as he spoke to fourth and fifth grade students about Internet Safety at Ashby Elementary School in May 2008.

Comments from Fourth Grade Students on Internet Safety

1. Never give information on the web.

2. Ask your parents first if you can do something on the computer.

3. Don't talk online to people you don't know.

4. Be careful of fake passwords.

5. Don't give a picture of yourself or your address in chat lines.

6. Respect your privacy and the privacy of others.

7. Don't blog!

8. You have to be very careful.

9. Change your password often.

10. 'My Space' is not safe.

11. Don't go to any website unluess it is one you know is safe. Check with a parent or teacher.

12. Ask your parents before you chat with someone.

13. Take good care of your files.

14. Ask your parents to get information with you.
